- Hair By Thelma - Melted Blonde Colour Recipe
To create this incredible colour melt, Thelma used: Schwarzkopf Professional 10 min colour from Igora Royal 5-12 (Cendre, Ash) 10 vol on the roots.. for 10 minutes, rinsed and dried hair.. Freehand Painted hair using Schwarzkopf's Vario Plus Bleach and 30 vol (mid lengths) over the dark areas. 20vol on previously lightened blonde with Brazilian Bond Builder SA to keep the integrity of the hair together while lifting. Blonde lifted beautifully so I just did one wash with Schwarzkopf BC Colour Freeze Silver Shampoo and did a Power Shot treatment (Shine Concentrate) Hair By Thelma - 26 Bradford Road, Bedfordview 082 500 6412.

- Dark and Lovely Academy - Courses Available

Below is an overview of the courses available. Full Accreditation (2 years) This comprehensive course teaches all aspects of hairdressing from scratch. You will learn cutting, styling, working with chemicals, product knowledge, structure of hair, business management, make-up application and more. Suitable for: Beginners who would like to pursue a career in hair and be eligible for employment at leading salons. Pre Trade Test (2 weeks) Do you have industry experience but no formal Trade Test? Having a formal industry qualification can open many doors and allow you to earn better. The Pre Trade Test course helps you brush up on everything you need to successfully pass your Trade Test. (The Academy is also a Trade Test centre) Suitable for: Hairdressers with industry experience who want to obtain their formal qualification. Beginner Courses (4 months) This is a short, intensive course which gives prospective hairstylists an overview of the industry and helps you to quickly learn essential skills that will allow you to be employed as an apprentice or assistant while you continue your education. Suitable for: Beginners who would like to pursue a career in hair. Advanced Courses (8 weeks) These courses are suitable for qualified and experienced stylists, who would like to brush up on their skills and gain specialist knowledge. The course covers modern cutting techniques, fashion styles, bonding techniques, bridal styling and colouring. Suitable for: Hairdressers with industry experience who want to improve their skills and be inspired by ongoing education. Talented young hairdresser Shana-Lee from Blu Gel is heading off to compete in the Worldskills finals in Abu Dhabi. After overcoming family tragedy and other setbacks, Shana-Lee persevered with her training with expert Dennis Randall. When Pat Knight of Wahl South Africa heard what Shana-Lee had been through she decided to give her a gift At Salon Africa, Blu Gel received a fabulous Wahl-sponsored tool kit, and a donation of R10,000 for Shana Lee, which she can use on her overseas trip, to ensure she has some spending money to enjoy herself and make the most of this amazing opportunity.
