Style Inspiration: Disconnected Beauty by Elle Foreman
“This collection explores the tension between digital perfection and reality. In a culture where filters and algorithms erase flaws, we ask: what if beauty wasn’t retouched, but revealed? Each look magnifies the pull between control and release, polish and rawness. Sleek set against textured, woven against undone, organic against geometric – every contrast becomes a statement. The collection asks whether beauty lies in perfection, imperfection or the space between.” Elle Fore

Style Inspiration: Jigsaw by Yoshiko Hair
Jigsaw is inspired by the breaking down of hair styles and textures, to recreate them into new shapes. I wanted the collection to have a disconnected and distorted feel to it. Like working with mosaics, I wanted to break everything and re-assemble it. I endeavoured to make the models look like wind up dolls with the look that they have been put together like a jigsaw to create an individual and stylized feel. I chose to create a robotic, dramatic collection that borders on

Style Inspiration: Enigma Variations by Gemma McGeown
A symphony of personalities and emotions, each style I created incorporated a “variation” of a hidden theme — the unspoken essence of identity.Every look embodies a different mood and texture, yet all share a unique similarity that binds them together. Style Inspiration: Tribe by Rush Hair
‘Tribe’ is an exploration of silhouettes, textures, and definitions. This collection transports you to a dystopian future, capturing the essence of apocalyptic femininity with an androgynous touch. A cocktail of irregular textures and lengths, silhouettes and deliberately disconnected, choppy cuts are infused with muted, subtle tones to create a dominant, striking finish. ‘Tribe’ captivates with every look luring you in further. Known for their unique style and influencing t

Style Inspiration: Synergy Collection by Smartest 73 Artistic Team
This collection is a true collaboration of skills, personalities and artists of the Smartest73 Artistic Team and photographer Jamie Blanshard. The vision, born from the concept of Japanese street culture fused with manga influences, was a collective decision to explore. We all share a passion and fascination for the history behind this culture, so all relished the opportunity to create our interpretation of it. Originally shot in colour, our Synergy collection was changed to

Style Inspiration: Modulux by Michelle Summers Davies
“Modulux is a collection born from the collision of future-thinking and technical discipline, with every image crafted to reflect a balance of structure and softness. The name is a fusion of modular and luxury, echoing the concept of building progressive, adaptable hair shapes that feel elevated, wearable, and editorially strong. Inspired by AI-generated concepts, I used technology as a springboard but translated each idea into real-world hair that could move, flow, and hol

Style Inspiration: D2R by Paul James Graham
My collection is the manipulation of beauty and gender, and it's impact on the Hair world. Blurring the lines of gender is still creating fresh and new ideas for Hair, Beauty and Fashion. I was drawn in by Reality Star Raja Gemini on the cover of Stunnin Magazine , and the warm yellow, black and white colour pallete featured throughout (see mood board). The colour selection reminded me of roadworks signs, hence the collection name, D2R (a play on the word Detour). It's with a

Style Inspiration: Phoenix by Caprice De Sanctis
Phoenix , a deeply personal collection that symbolizes transformation, resilience, and rebirth. Inspired by the mythical bird that rises from its own ashes, this work reflects my own journey of falling, burning out, and ultimately returning stronger and more passionate than ever. After moving salons twice and enduring relentless bullying, I reached a point where I questioned everything— career, identity, and whether I still belonged in the hair industry. The fire I once had

Style Inspiration: Unfinished Symphony by Harry Andreou
“I wanted to create a collection that celebrates imperfections. I wanted hair that felt raw, messy, and as if you’re seeing it mid-transformation. I was inspired by rough edges, ideas unresolved and hair that’s not quite finished. Some looks are soft, some are hard, but they’re all rebelling against the need for everything to be polished for approval.” Harry Andreou Hair by Harry Andreou,Winchester Make-up: Si James Styling: Magdalena Jacobs Photographs: Chris Bulezuik

Style Inspiration: Fracture by David Corbett
“Inspired by the Japanese art of KINTSUGI, my collection explores the idea that in a world where we are in pursuit of perfection, we often overlook just how beautiful the imperfect can be. There has to be cracks in most things, otherwise how do we let the light in.” David Corbett Hair: David Corbett at David Corbett Hairdressing, Glasgow Make-up: Roseanna Velin Styling: Magdalena Jacobs Photographer: Richard Miles

Style Inspiration Yin and Yang by Vivienne Mackinder
The Yin & Yang Collection celebrates duality — the balance of strength and softness, power and grace. Inspired by the contrast between the powerhouse alpha female and the soft romantic, each look was designed to reveal how beauty can live equally in boldness and delicacy. Strength, after all, can be just as beautiful as vulnerability. Color placement and haircut design work in harmony throughout the collection, using razor-cut precision and creative styling to express individ

The collection is a contemporary ode to the grandeur of Inca culture, where each look reinterprets the aesthetic of this ancestral civilization. Style Inspiration: Buff by Paul James Graham
The Buff collection is about stripping away all the fluff and showcasing hair that I'm passionate about. Short clean styles that characterise to me, the essence of mens hairdressing. A variety of techniques that encompass fades, tapers, and buzz cuts, more of the classic style. I chose to shoot the models shirtless to further articulate the meaning behind this intention. I was inspired by the hundreds of men that sit in my chair, every week, longing for help. From compli

Style Inspiration: Velvet by Raul de Andreas
VELVET is the new collection by Raúl de Andreas , marking a reflective pause in the artist’s creative journey. It is born from an intimate need: to stop, look back, and reconnect with the true essence of hairdressing. After years of experimentation, competition, and exploration of abstract forms, the creator of VELVET felt the call to return to the fundamentals. In doing so, he discovered that beyond techniques or styles, his true purpose is to create beauty . The colle

Style Inspiration: Mr Asia 1971 by Sara Allsop
Mr Asia – 1971 by Sara Allsop, 2025 AHIA New Zealand Hairdresser of the Year, Sara Allsop Mr. Asia ’71 is more than a collection — it’s a portrait of controlled chaos. It’s about the men who built their empire in silence. Inspired by the real faces of a underground world: polished, dangerous, and always in control. Collars exaggerated — long and pointed, Shirts with prints: paisleys, florals, or abstract patterns. Colors ranged from burnt orange to deep burgundy. Button

Style Inspiration: Celestial by Ann Marie Young
Celestial features six powerful, otherworldly queens. I envisage each of them as superhuman, divine galactic rulers. The contrasting colours and layering textures of space and planets have inspired me: from fiery golds, reds and oranges through to deep greens, blues and silvery hues. I have interwoven the striking shades and quiet movement of the Aurora Borealis and Australis throughout the collection with a dreamy blend of blues, greens and purples. The looks channel otherwo
