Style Inspiration: Third Element Collection by Jo O'Neill
“This is a collection that celebrates structure within creativity, a visual formula where colour becomes more than aesthetic; it becomes emotion, intention, and identity. The Power of Three is bold, modern, and perfectly measured. This is built on the principle of the Power of Three; a carefully crafted colour structure that is utilised in fashion, interior design and marketing. This visual ratio creates harmony and contrast by utilizing the 60/30/10 method: 60% dominant colo

Style Inspiration: Apex by Steven Smart
A futuristic post-apocalyptic vision of our worlds created with stunning colour, intricate placement, and dramatic shape. Bold, sharp, contrasting lines and disconnected cuts are complimented my soft pastel shades and subtle panels and blends. The most simple, classic shape and movement are dramatised with definitive technique and striking use of tone and contrast. APEX is the strength, attitude and tenacity needed for a post-artificial intelligence uprising. Steven Smart – B

Style Inspiration: Her Thorns by Jelena Vasic
Her Thorns - This collection explores feminine duality, beauty sharpened by survival. Rooted with my own life experience as a woman whose family fled a war-torn country. "Her Thorns" examines a tension between perfection and imperfection, and the balance of anarchy and allure. The graphic style inspired by the defiance of 80's punk twisted with the elegance of a vintage Chanel shoot. With sculptural silhouettes, sharp lines and monochromatic palette, the hair becomes wearabl

Style Inspiration: Within Collection by Campos Curly
WITHIN is rooted in the natural coexistence of contrasts: strength and calm, intensity and subtlety. A duality that doesn’t oppose itself, but defines what a woman is. Because a woman holds both at once — warrior and lover. Strength and sensitivity, existing from within. The collection is built through observation rather than transformation. Each woman is approached through her own language — her texture, the way she wears her hair, her personal style — working from what alre

Style Inspiration: Illume Collection by Mark Van Westerop
“With Illume, I present a collection driven by light, restraint and identity. Light is not treated as an effect, but as a language – revealing form, movement and nuance. This collection explores softness, transparency and contrast, translating these elements into modern hair design that feels personal, intelligent and timeless. Illume is created for individuals who see hair as an extension of who they are, rather than a trend to follow. Illume is inspired by the way light int

Style Inspiration: Arise Collection by Chloe Houston
“Arise represents a defining moment in my creative journey—an exploration of colour, texture and form. Working with a refined palette of soft, universal pastels, I’ve created a series of considered shapes across short and longer lengths, each with its own distinct identity. Clean, minimal make-up and understated styling allow the hair to take focus, highlighting both technique and finish. This collection signals a growing confidence in my work and offers a glimpse of the crea

Style Inspiration: Clique by Matt Clarke
Clique draws inspiration from the iconic high school films of the 1980s, particularly the work of director John Hughes. The concept was built around the idea of classic school photo day — awkward, over-styled, and totally unforgettable. Each look is a nod to the exaggerated stereotypes and cliques that defined teenage life in that era — from the jock to the rebel, the nerd to the misfit. I wanted the shoot to feel nostalgic, playful, and tongue-in-cheek. Capturing the awkw

Style Inspiration: Vivid Silence by Mark Van Westerop
A study in controlled intensity. This collection explores how far color can be pushed without losing it's refinement. Not through volume - but through precision. Atmosphere becomes movement. Movement becomes structure. Three chapters. One vision. Color as identity. Form as direction. Silence as power. Vivid silence is not about trend. It is about authorship. A signature. Defined. Style Inspiration: Lucid Futurism by Lauren McCowan
Lucid Futurism was born from a desire to restore feeling in an era of digital desensitisation. We are living in a time where everything is louder yet somehow less expressive, polished yet emotionally flat. I felt compelled to create work that cuts through that noise - work that reawakens sensation, imagination, and hope. This collection reflects my belief that hair can be both precision craft and emotional language. It represents joyful rebellion against digital sameness and

There’s something intentional in that balance: strength and softness coexisting effortlessly. The cuts are precise, but never rigid. Line

Style Inspiration: Afterglow by Eunji Kim
Afterglow captures the radiance after the light moves on – the warmth that rests on skin, the softness that settles into the room Each portrait in this collection sits in that tender space between daylight and shadow. Style Inspiration: Anime by Steven Smart
“This collection is my reflection of the strong, vivid colour predominately illustrated in the Japanese comic genre. The vision for this collection was born from the concept of Japanese street culture fused with manga influences. Creatively it was a fascinating concept to explore as the history behind this culture is so intrinsically reliant on colour in all its forms but especially the bold! I relished the opportunity to express my creativity with my interpretation of such a

Style Inspiration: Cloud Dancer by Andrew Smith
There has been so much talk about Pantones colour of 2026 ‘CLOUD DANCER’ and I for one am totally here for it 🤍. Now, we all know that Pantone predictions aren’t directly aimed at the hairdressing industry nor would we actually want it to be, personally I believe it to have more relevance to fashion, textiles and furnishings but as it’s always a huge buzz over socials I believe to ignore it would be a wasted opportunity. CLOUD DANCER doesn’t necessarily mean plain white

Style Inspiration: Flowers Of Life by Sara Allsop
Flower of Life - a painting by Frida Kahlo Muse Frida Khalo: “I paint flowers so they do not die” The inspiration started with Frida Kahlo’s painting The Flower of Life. I was drawn to the intensity of red in the artwork. The use of red in the collection symbolizes the life force and resilience Frida captured through her work Showing the strength, beauty, and individuality she embodied as a woman. Winning Collection by Sara Allsop, 2025 AHIA Creative New Zealand Hairdresser

Style Inspiration: The Midas Touch by Trey Gillen
I was inspired by the mythological story of King Midas and his golden touch. The Greek god Dionysus granted Midas with this gift which turned to curse, everything he touched turned to gold. Dionysus is the Greek god of wine & fertility and he was known to have a modest number of lovers. In this collection I wanted to mesh editorial with mythology and storytelling. The models are the would be lovers of Dionysus and King Midas. Using hair art techniques of hair paper and glue
