Astrologist Zema predicts your stars for August. For a full personalised reading, you can contact her on 083 430 1456. VIRGO 23 AUG – 22 SEP So, Virgo! Time to get your head together if you want that huge improvement in your job. You are at the point of being the hero of the story. However, do not think of taking anybody down the wrong path to achieve your goals. If you do, the goals – Surprise! Surprise! – will disappear. Love life looks promising, but don’t try and do too much too quickly and get things slightly confused… LIBRA 23 SEP – 22 OCT “Taking things slowly” sounds admirable when it comes to getting the precious person you’ve had your eye on for a longish time, but the slower you go, the less likely you are to actually win in the end. Slowly can also be interpreted as boredom and he or she may just wander away. Find the middle path, and not only with love, but also money, which is confusing you right now. SCORPIO 23 OCT – 21 NOV Scorp, you’re trying so hard to make a new start with romance, but you’re not really getting anywhere. You just can’t let go of the past, no matter how hard you try. Get the message: The Prince/Princess is out there, searching for you. Venus the Love Goddess is getting impatient… Work looks good for you, you’re so good at detail, you drive most people nuts. Keep going. And going. SAGITTARIUS 22 NOV – 21 DEC You’ve always been spiritually strong and very, very calculating when it comes to people, money, jobs, etc. Time to take a break if possible and do something special for yourself only. Take some time away from planning life to death and do something that you enjoy that has no point to it whatsoever. Your partner will be astonished and pleased, just don’t frighten him/her with the change. CAPRICORN 22 DEC - 19 JAN Answers to so many questions have finally arrived and now you can get yourself going with new plans as you are so inventive. This could bring you money, respect and even – wait for it! – Lurve! Just keep the brain going and don’t make so many plans that you don’t know which way to turn. Try and involve somebody you trust to help you along the path. Get going, like now. AQUARIUS 20 JAN – 18 FEB True love appears to strike at a surprising speed and leave you gob-smacked! Whether it is suddenly looking at your partner with new eyes or meeting someone new, this is the time to apply yourself with passion. Warning: don’t drown yourself with stress, get advice from someone who has already experienced this. A new beginning is just what you need right now. So do it. PISCES 19 FEB – 20 MARCH Everybody admires you for the way you carry out your job and responsibilities. Now is not the time to drag your feet, slow down, or kill somebody. Work up the patience, not only with others in general but especially with the ones closest to you that have been taking your shark-bites and are arming themselves. There is something truly special waiting for you in your job, SO - shut-like-UP! ARIES 21 MARCH – 19 APRIL You have some work to do – (when do you not?), but in this case you can pull it off with style and no sharp objects. You are learning the lesson of life at a tremendous speed. Just keep going. Time to look at that hidden talent (not the killing one) to make more money when you get this bright idea. There will be lots of work and lots of swearing and you’ll come out on top. Get going. TAURUS 20 APRIL – 20 MAY The emphasis is on connecting with people, especially family members that you haven’t seen for a long time. This could be a good time to fix disagreements from the past and to concentrate on new beginnings. This could also be a chance to meet someone special through these family contacts. You’re good at being social (when you feel like it), so get up and going and do the social thing. GEMINI 21 MAY – 20 JUNE Gemini! You tend to make people crazy when you discuss difficult subjects with people, especially family. It’s all well and good to see both sides of the story, but it does tend to irritate after a while and people tend to start wielding sharp objects at you. Learn to keep the old mouth shut a bit when others have opinions – this will help the great forward move coming - in your job! CANCER 21 JUNE – 22 JULY Righto Cancer! You have done so well with work issues lately, you have more than proved yourself. Everybody thinks you are a star! Enjoy while you can keep your temper, something that tends to get in the way of things sometimes. There is more progress waiting for you, but you need to keep at it without murder up your sleeve… Do some fast learning and zip the lip a bit … LEO 23 JULY – 22 AUG Maybe take some time to look at the famous love life. Somebody really, really wants to get to know you, but sometimes your roar is so loud it frightens this person half to death. Look around you for a change and take note of the person who can’t take his/her eyes off of you. Then do your utmost best to behave like a loving kitty cat instead of a killer. Really – try! Try hard!

- Style Inspiration: Minimalist Looks
The representation of minimalism displayed through this collection strips hair culture to its basic ingredients. Taking everything away highlights the depth of hair itself; displaying different textures, shapes, and movements. - Colour Recipe: Melting Rose
Kim Franklin Hickman, Master Stylist at Carlton Hair, created this beautiful pastel rose gold colour melt for a client at Carlton Ballito. Kim took her client from natural base at the roots, to a fabulously fashionable yet wearable rose through the mid-lengths and ends. What made this transformation even more incredible, was the problematic history of colouring that the hair began with! Before: Micaela came in to see me a few weeks prior to her appointment for a free consultation at Carlton Hair Ballito. We discussed what had been done to her hair in the last 5 years so I knew the history, and also discussed cost. When she came in for her appointment I knew there was a band of box colour from 2 years ago, as well as a highly stained dark violet colour. I looked at the hair carefully and did 3 test strands in different areas, to identify that I was starting off with 6 colour bands. During: I cleansed the hair section by section in foils (yes it took long, but slow and steady always wins). I went in with different bleach formulas using Davines Ammonia-Free bleach, and varied the developers 10, 20 and 30-vol. All had Bondplex in the mixtures. I left about a 2 cm regrowth at natural level 5 as we were doing a colour melt closer to the roots than normal for colour longevity. Once I reached levels of 7,8 and 9 throughout, I rinsed, dried, and applied a colour melt Davines with Vibrachrom 10g 5/11+20g 7/11+ 5vol 1:2 for 15 minutes, just enough to break the bleach line and create a natural colour melt. I then rinsed, lightly shampooed using Davines Minu range, towel dried the hair, applied Davines Dede Mist (helps as a porosity equaliser) and applied 10g of Davines Ammonia free pure colour Violet +0.5g red + 51g Creme Base + 102g 5 vol. I left this on for 20 minutes, rinsed, lightly shampooed, and applied Minu post-colour lock in treatment for 3 minutes, then applied Minu mask under micromist to lock in the colour. After: The trick to the perfect pastel pink / rose gold / peach is the level you lift it to. Remember your underlying tones. Homecare is essential to keep up the pastel pinks and I recommended Davines Alchemic red shampoo, and Alchemic silver, red and copper conditioners.
