Twincare is very excited to announce that as of the 1st of April 2021, we are the proud owners of Joico South Africa!!!! I would like to thank Heather and her team for the fantastic job they had done in building this magnificent brand. Twincare would like to welcome the team and Joico clients into the Twincare family. We will be communicating some of our exciting plans for the brand. As from the 1st of April all orders can be placed through Twincare International on 011 305 1600, or on email at orders@twincare.co.za or your current Joico consultant. Stav Dimitriads | CEO Twincare It is with mixed feelings that we announce the sale of Joico to Twincare International. We have spent 39 years in this beautiful industry of which 21 years to the day was the building of two beautiful brands. We have made many lifelong friends during these times. We have however reached a point in our lives where we want a change of pace as well as spending time together. As difficult as it is letting go, we feel comfortable in handing the next era of the Joico story to Stav and Twincare International. Twincare not only has 50 years’ experience in the industry but has built some of the most successful professional brands in South Africa. We would like to thank you - our clients as well as our loyal and dedicated staff for the support and memories over the years. We wish you all well in your business and wish Twincare all the success in the future. Take care, Heather and Pam
- Congratulations #gameofwella Winners!
The # gameofwella and People Choice Award Winners have been announced! On 1 March 2021 the wellaprofessional_sa Instagram page was buzzing with excitement. And if you missed the announcement, fear not, we’ve listed them below. We were blown away by the intense work and creativity that all entrants put into creating their final looks. Suffice to say, it was hard to narrow down some of the best hairdressing talent to only eight winners in the respective categories. The # gameofwella competition The competition was designed to include both up-and-coming Wella and non-Wella stylists allowing them to explore their skills while competing on an equal platform. We challenged stylists to show their best work on their Instagram pages for an opportunity to be chosen by and international panel of judges. # gameofwella celebrated both stylists' skills and the diversity of beauty with Wella. The competition allowed stylist to set the tone for coming trends while accentuating their model's natural beauty. The essence of # gameofwella was entirely based on the shift we've seen in how trends develop: Not set by experts, designers, or fashion houses - but instead on the principle of connection, ignited conversations, and shared opinions. The # gameofwella competition allowed stylist to become collective trendsetters. This year, we added the People’s Choice Awards so that each finalist would have an extra opportunity for their loved ones and fans to vote. The winners for the People’s Choice Awards were based on the number of likes they received on the original announcement posts between 15 February and 28 February 2021 and had no relation to the Bronze, Silver and Gold winners that were judged by our international judging panel. Congratulations to our # gameofwella winners! Wella salons Gold: Justen Laubscher from The Hair Shack in Salt Rock KwaZulu Natal Silver: Steven Phillips from Absolut Hair in Claremont Cape Town Bronze: Junet Olivier from Modern Hair Salon in Lady Brand Free State People Choice Award: Jadie Herbst from Jadie Professionals in Bloemfontein Non-Wella salons Gold & People Choice Award: Kyle Van Wyk from Texture Inc in Stand Cape Town Silver: Nicoleen Coetzee from Texture Inc in Stand Cape Town Bronze: Michelle Heyns from BLUNT Hair Studio in Stellenbosch Cape Town Prizes for # gameofwella winners Wella Salon People’s Choice Award ● R5 000 to the stylist Gold 1st Prize ● Salon – Wella Colour products to the value of R15 000 (List Price excl. - 2021 Trends from International Colorist Safy Burton
“Safy B” is a Goldwell colourist and member of the Fellowship Project Colour Team and has decided to brighten up everyone's days with her trend predictions for 2021. Just tweak the seasons slightly as these are given from a northern hemisphere perspective. Clients sadly missed the opportunity to embrace and express their individuality through their hair during 2020, but 2021 is their time to shine and make a change – it’s time to embrace oneself again! With salons hoping to open in the Spring, the focus turns to SS21 and the trends that will take hold of the industry - just in time for the longer days, more sunshine and warmer weather. Colour Trends Perfect Pastels We’ve seen a huge increase in the use of pastels at the beginning of 2021 and this is only going to become more popular as we approach the Spring. Shades such as mint green, lilac, rose and peach will be the top four trending shades this season. It’s all about the light and fresh atmospheric vibe. Cosy Copper Before lockdown there was huge demand for beautiful and rich copper tones. These have been hugely popular throughout Winter and will stay in trend until the Summer months, gradually becoming lighter and more subtle as we get into Autumn. Glowing Copper will be the colour of the year for redheads! Embracing Natural It was amazing to see clients embrace their natural hair colour and texture throughout 2020. It’s something many clients are hesitant to try during their normal day-to-day life, however during lockdown this was needed and became very popular! Those who embraced their grey hair will continue this trend into 2021 and will get much more creative when it comes to the cut and shape of their hair. Working with what you’ve got makes things much more exciting and unique! Styling & Cut Trends Movement You guessed it, movement and natural curls are back for 2021 and I could not be more excited! Clients will be looking to add some choppy layers and textured cuts to give different dimensions and movement throughout their look, others will embrace their natural curls and look to make them bigger and beautiful once more. Short & Sharp For those with shorter styles it’s time to get creative. Sharp cuts with strong base lines will be super popular featuring lots of texture throughout the top, back and sides.
