Exciting news! The Kao Global Creative Awards for 2021 are going ahead, with some changes to the competition categories.
Under the new rules, every category for 2021 is a photo-only or photographic-collection entry with no live finals due to the uncertainty surrounding lockdowns.

The foundation of the competition stays the same, with stylists free to create an entry showcasing their own unique vision and creativity.
Categories Removed from 2021 Competition
This year, two categories will be removed from the competition: the Creative Colorist of the Year and the Haircutter of the Year. Both of these were going to have a live finale which will not be possible this year.
Categories Included in 2021 Competition
New Talent Colorist of the Year: Photo Submission
The New Talent Colorist of the Year will still be taking place and will be changed to be a photo-only competition. This exciting category is designed for stylists with less than five years of experience to showcase their creativity. Contestants will compete at a national level in each country and the global finals will be judged online from the photos.
Men’s Hairstylist of the Year: Collection Submission
Stylists show their mastery and expertise in men’s styling, barbering, and grooming by creating a collection of cutting-edge men’s looks.
Salon Team of the Year: Collection Submission
This category is the perfect opportunity to show the creativity of the entire salon team and to create a collection that represents a shared vision and show the power of the entire team.
Avant Garde Stylist of the Year: Collection Submission
To win this award stylists need to push the boundaries of conventional hairstyling and dare to inspire with their collection of visionary work.
Editorial Colorist of the Year: Collection Submission
In this category stylists have to express their vision in color and to create an editorial color collection that showcases color creativity, precision and vision.
The Gold Winners of each of the global categories deserve the recognition and reward for all of their creative efforts. In addition to their trophy, they will receive global editorial coverage and a cash prize.
The entry deadline has been extended to July 15th , 2021.
