Styles: Blackout by Mikelah-Jayde Riley, Australia

Why would you try to fit in, when you were born to stand out?

Anything out of the ordinary has always attracted Mikelah-Jayde’s attention, which is strongly reflected in her AHFA collection.

The collection is inspired by her favourite fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, the 1970s rebel that introduced the style of punk into the world of fashion. Mikelah-Jayde’s collection is provocative and edgy, but also encouraging. This modern and courageous collection is called BLACKOUT.

“It’s all about expressing yourself and being creative. I want to make a statement and I feel like BLACKOUT is my own interpretation of punk. There are no restrictions in this collection and I love that!”

The collection spotlights interesting textures, various lengths and a big dose of confidence. BLACKOUT serves proud, loud and bold looks. This is Mikelah-Jayde’s modern interpretation of punk, and it’s wearable for everyone. Although it might be punk inspired, the BLACKOUT collection is all about expressing your personality with your appearance.

“Punk is so appealing to me and it is continuously evolving. This collection is me.”
