ESP Industry Intel and Stats: June 2021

Just over a year ago on the 19th of June 2020 we as an industry received notice that we were allowed to reopen our businesses and start servicing clients, subject to health protocols, after what felt like an eternity. Hundreds of thousands of people returned to work and doing what they loved albeit in a way that we were not used to. Astute business owners had been preparing for this moment, they acquired the necessary PPE and trained their staff, setup split shifts and were able to hit the ground running. Other business owners, perhaps overwhelmed by fear, were not prepared and had to catchup quickly in order to capitalise on the flood of consumers wanting to make bookings.

Although there were only 10 days of trading in June 2020 and at reduced capacity it was the start of our post COVID reality and gives us a benchmark to show how far we have come. When comparing June 2020 to June 2021 we can see 80%+ increases across the hair and beauty sectors. Looking back at the messages in the Collective Corporation let me relive the excitement, the uncertainty and the hope. Next month we will be looking at the first complete post industry lockdown month in our evolving industry landscape.

These stats are drawn from the ESP client base that make use of our Business Intelligence service.
