- Fashion Trend Alert: Wispy, Wet-Look Hair
One of the trends in the McQueen spring-summer collection was wispy, wet-look hair, as if the model had just come out of the water. How did they create this? The hair was covered with generous amounts of Redken's Hardwear 16 Hair Gel, and left to set dry. Strands of hair at the front were then pulled out using a fine-tooth comb and spread out over the models' faces. Afterwards, Redken Shine Flash Spray was used to create the impression that the model had just emerged from underwater, or a dark, strange underworld...the intended effect was darkly romantic and strange. An elaborate choker necklace finished the look and also served to keep the hair tucked in and flat against the neck.

- June Hairoscopes
What do your stars foretell this month? Astrologist Zema reveals. For a full personalised reading, contact her on 083 430 1456. GEMINI 21 MAY – 20 JUNE Looks like its time you caught up on all the news with friends and family – everybody’s wondering what has actually happened to you, you have been so quiet … (Gemini quiet? It’s going to snow…). There are so many people who have ideas for things you can and must do, so stop hiding and get on with it. There is money to be made at a speed if you drag yourself up and get going. CANCER 21 JUNE – 22 JULY Time for you to start thinking hard about where you want to go, Cancer. Family issues, friends issues, etc is enough now! You have a brand new path to follow but you need to look before you leap. Someone may make you a wonderful offer concerning work, so listen carefully and go for the detail, as only a Cancer can. You have somebody who is prepared to do anything to help you. Go, Go! LEO 23 JULY – 22 AUG You’ve been too quiet for too long, Leo. Everybody’s wondering what’s happened to the loud mouth etc. Time to use what passes for a brain with you and actually discover that you are incredibly inventive (not bombs etc please) and you can find a way to work and travel at the same time. What more could you ask for? Maybe romance, but don’t rush into anything right now. Work. VIRGO 23 AUG – 22 SEP You and Partner need to look at business opportunities right now. It’s exactly the right time to come up with some good ideas. (Please try very hard not to bore him/her with too many details or he/she will start losing interest). Besides this, love life doesn’t look too bad, you just need to make a bit more of an effort and it would help to surprise your partner for a change. Think hard, not too long. LIBRA 23 SEPT – OCT 22 There could be some squabbles on the way – looks like you’re ready to take on anybody right now. What’s the matter with you, Lib? You always seem to get what you want in the end, so how about learning to wait? Don’t start off a disagreement that ends up in murder or the like … you WILL get what you want, but this is where you have to practice patience. Can you spell it? SCORPIO 23 OCT – 21 NOV Have you come across that special person yet? We’re all waiting, Universe included … The person could be making advances and you’re not seeing them! Or ignoring him/her because you don’t believe it’s real … Come on Scorp, True Love is waiting along with the rest of us. (You can be charming, so apply it). Job is fine, life is fine in general, all you need is the him/ her. Open your eyes. SAGITTARIUS 22 NOV – 21 DEC Sag! Time to look at finances. You usually do very well with money in general, but don’t get carried away now in any way whatsoever. You are usually generous to people who need to borrow, lend, whatever, but right now you need to close the purse-strings. Love is just around the corner for you too, so keep the eyes open and the purse-strings closed. Time off to think would be good also. CAPRICORN 21 DEC – JAN 20 At the moment it appears that family matters are the strongest. If there are arguments, especially about moving house, business etc. try and keep an open mind and hide sharp instruments. You don’t want this to end up in a life-long struggle to get things straight again, so be careful. You’re usually good at finances, so try and negotiate (can you spell this word?) and stay calm … AQUARIUS 20 JAN – 18 FEB The Universe is telling you to calm down. You’ve got a lot on your mind, mainly finances, and you don’t need to worry half as much as you are at the moment. There’s something you’re missing that can bring in the money you want so badly, but you have to think! Ask your partner for advice, and actually listen for a change. Financially you’re doing better than you think… PISCES 19 FEB – 20 MARCH If you want to get that money situation of yours more on your own level, time to get advice. You’re not doing anything wrong, but you could do better … Family drama is taking a lot of your energy and patience, so hide sharp instruments and walk away before you commit murder or something close to it. Here’s a Bright Idea... Holiday! Work towards it. Hard. Impress your partner and the world. ARIES 21 MARCH – 19 APRIL You’ve been doing very well at discovering who and what people are. This is a bit of a let-down for you, but rather take it as a Learning Curve. Very hard but not impossible. You’re about to come up with some ideas that could take even you by surprise! How’s that for a change, Aries? Watch your money carefully, lend to no-one, give to no-one and hide it. You deserve, not them … TAURUS 20 APRIL – 20 MAY You appear to be walking a difficult path right now Taurus, kind of pulled between different family members with different opinions about something or other. Best advice is to keep dead quiet, smile, walk away… Can you do this? Family members that you are sort of close to you will help you along this path. (There aren’t many of them… Also, don’t think of changing jobs right now.

- Wella Professional Introduces Wellaplex
#SAYYESTOCOLOUR #STYLISTSDOITBETTER #YESTOWELLAPLEXSA Wella Professionals introduces its latest scientific innovation, NEW WELLAPLEX with Opti pH System, an exclusive strengthening treatment that helps to reconstruct inner hair bonds for stronger hair guaranteeing the best lifting results on the market. NEW WELLAPLEX is the best partner of Wella Professionals colour products during lightening and colour services and is designed to work in perfect synergy; furthermore, it is the only product recommended for use with Wella Professionals. The collection consists of 3 new products: No1 Bond Maker, which helps to create bonds within the hair during lightening or colour services; No2 Bond Stabiliser, which further strengthens the bonds, re-balances pH and strengthens the hair structure after chemical treatment; and No3 Hair Stabiliser, for use at home which helps to keep the hair strong, smooth and soft until the next WELLAPLEX treatment. Each product works by targeting the inner hair structure where amino-acid bonds within the hair have been broken due to chemical processes, mechanical or environmental stresses. WELLAPLEX reconstructs inner hair bonds for stronger hair. Bold or subtle hair changes can now be made with the assurance that hair will be healthier, flexible and more manageable. WELLAPLEX strengthens hair from start to finish, meaning more of your clients can now say yes to colour. An optimal pH is key for the best colour results; lightening and oxidative colour products have a high pH (~9-10) which is necessary to open the hair cuticles, thus enabling penetration of lifting and colour molecules. No1 Bond Maker has a matching pH with lightening and colour products, enabling optimal lift and penetration of dye molecules, and No2 Bond Stabiliser rebalances the pH factor after chemical service. The result is a stronger hair structure with no compromise on lightening or colour result. Whether clients want their transformation to be blonde, or even platinum blonde, WELLAPLEX will help to maintain the condition of the hair. Discover healthier, stronger and more manageable hair with colour makeovers for your clients by using WELLAPLEX. - Formula: Ice, Ice Baby from Leandi Cronje, Excentric on Point
What a divine, cool, gleaming grey, and what a transformation from the previous colour! Here’s how Leandi worked her magic: I used Resken Flashlift with pH Bonder. My aim was to get a clean blonde all over. It was difficult and took a long time. My first colour after the flashlift I used Redken Shades EQ 09N and 09P with pH Bonder. Developed for 20 minutes. I rinsed and applied a second glaze Shades EQ 08T and pH Bonder. Developed for 20 minutes. Excentric on Point, 73 Regent Road, Sea Point, Cape Town 021 036 1172
