Well known SA Stylist Debbie Nebbeling Talks about her 40 Years in the Industry

Debbie Nebbeling is a respected and skilled professional celebrating 40 years of experience and time in the Hairdressing Industry.

I started my career as an apprentice in April 1982 at my sister's salon in Cyrildene. I qualified in 1985,and decided to join Lynne Nicolas at Profile as a Senior Stylist. In 1995 I became Lynne's partner. Lynne still works for me on a part-time basis and we have worked together for 37 happy years.

After a successful partnership of 10 years, I decided to branch out on my own and started Bodmin Hair in New Redruth Alberton. Thinking I would be a one-man band, the business actually grew from strength to strength, and I had to employ 10 staff members!

I felt I needed to grow, and I merged with Paul Fox, becoming his partner in his very successful brand: Paul James Hairdressing. Our partnership was strong, and we opened a salon at The Mall of New Market. Paul mentored me and made me the businesswoman I am today. On the 1st March 2019, I bought Paul out, and became the Sole owner.

Then Covid Struck! Honestly it has been the most challenging time in my career! But I am still here and empowering 12 women. I am a working owner and sit on the EOHCB Executive Committee board for many years.

I have been overseas twice to the Matrix Destination Convention in Rome and Spain, have met and been educated by International artists - you can never stop learning!

I have a passion for competition work, I have competed myself, winning and placing in numerous competitions. I’ve trained juniors and I am a qualified juror. I am currently on the competition committee for the EOHCB.

My Highlights have been so many!

  • Winning the Overall Winner Title at the EOHCB National Championships in 2006

  • Winning The Ace Quest Color expert in 2010.

  • Entering and winning the 2021 EOHCB Digital Ladies Cut and Blow Wave.

  • A proud member of the EOHCB Creative team.

  • Platform artist with GHD at Fashion Week.

  • Fully enjoyed co-ordinating, styling, training and mentoring at numerous hairshows, bridal expo's and photo shoots.

I am a past member of the Intercoiffure, being their Foundation Qualluame leader, mentoring the up and coming young stylists.

I still have passion and drive, love working with my Team! Without my Team, I would not be ME!
