These awards, which are done online, aim to recognize excellence, creativity and leadership throughout our awesome industry. This year we have the following categories:

Once entries have closed we will publish the timeline for the longlists, shortlists, voting to be open, and the announcement of the finalists and winners!

Best Balayage
Category Summary
This is a judged category where you can enter your own work. This category is to showcase your interpretation of a beautiful balayage. The look can be on any length of hair and any colour as long as the balayage effect is clear. Photos do not have to be professional and can be taken in-salon. You can submit from one to three photos of the hairstyle.
Requirements & How to Enter
Entrants must be a resident in South Africa.
You may submit a Maximum of three separate entries.

You can include one to three photos of your work.
Please send one email per entry. Your email must include 1-3 photos as well as the other information below.

Please include the client’s first name and confirm that you have permission to publish the photos on a public platform.

Best Gent’s Creative Cut
Category Summary
This is a judged category where you can enter your own work. Any creative cut can be submitted that shows a combination of technical and creative skills. Fading and clipper art are welcome as well as other creative effects. Photos do not have to be professional and can be taken in salon. You can submit from one to three photos of the hairstyle.
Requirements & How to Enter
Entrants must be a resident in South Africa.
You may submit a Maximum of three separate entries.

You can include one to three photos of your work.

Category Summary
This is a judged category where you can enter your own work. This category is to show the power of a makeover – whether cut or colour, dramatic or more subtle – show us the before and after’s that you are most proud of.

Category Summary
This is a judged category where you can enter your own work. This category is to show the calibre of top-class technical work and treatments it takes to fix damaged hair and create a new healthy look which may also include a new cut and colour. Show us the corrections that you are most proud of and the fabulous results!

Entrants must be a resident in South Africa.
You may submit a Maximum of three separate entries.

You must include a before photo and one to three after photos of your work.

Category Summary & Requirements
This is a voting category where you can nominate local educators within South Africa that you believe should win this award. An Educator that has truly inspired and empowered you with their dedication, knowledge & expertise and who has given you real inspiration to use in-salon!

This is a voting category where you can nominate a Company or Supplier within South Africa that you believe has given impeccable Service and Support to your business or the industry over the past year. A company who has gone the extra mile and shown you they truly care about your salon business.
