Superior Edge has worldwide recognition and accreditation from some of the finest brands including Matsuzaki, Tondeo, Jaguar, Sam Villa and Sensei Shears.
Master Sharpener Michèle La Trobe was scouted and received her training overseas. She is qualified to sharpen any brand and model of shear and has recently been selected as the exclusive South African servicing agent for Sam Villa shears. She sharpens the shears of leading SA hairdressers including Reto and Ierephaan (read their testimonials at the end of the article)
We service clients in all areas of Cape Town and can collect and deliver from your home or salon. Servicing takes 1-3 days and we offer courtesy scissors while yours are away. If you really can’t bring yourself to part with your precious shears, why not set up an appointment and we will service them at our premises while you wait.
Outside of Cape Town, please courier your shears to us and we will courier them back ASAP.
Pricing ranges from R300.00 to R450.00 per sharpening depending on the scissors type and cutting edge. This excludes courier fees.
What you can expect when receiving your shears back after servicing with Superior Edge:
* Perfectly Sharpened and fully balanced
* Faulty / old parts replaced or repaired
* Ride will have been skimmed
* The hollow ground area will have been serviced
* Silencer & tip alignment corrected.
* Scissors will have been cleaned, polished and buffed
* Balancing and cutting edge test will have been passed (testing performed on human hair)

Superior Edge is the South African agent for Matsuzaki and is excited to announce that we will soon also be representing Sensei Shears.
We carry stock so you can get a feel for the scissor when selecting. Contact us for an appointment to choose the perfect shears for you.
