The 2018 Intercoiffure Congress was held on 7th and 8th October at Birchwood Hotel, Boksburg. This event, which included phenomenal international education, was well attended and supported by the industry.
The congress kicked off with a fabulous Mexican-themed party on Saturday night. On Sunday, Intercoiffure members and invited guests enjoyed an amazing day of education, including a business talk by Professor Edith Vries, Director of Small Business & Development, and an inspiring educational show by Australian guest artists Terrina Brown and Branden Shin. Anel Cloete and Jas Jhally from Calligraphy Cut did a haircutting demo using this unique tool. The Intercoiffure South Africa artistic team, led by Donovan Grove and Stoffel van Wyk, put on a magnificent show, and the Young Intercoiffure team, headed by Shawn Odendaal, created a stunning display. Stage demos by Ladine and Schwarzkopf added to the educational value.
Interactive product stands gave everyone the chance to interact with the sponsors’ products – thanks to Schwarzkopf, Wella, L’Oréal Professionnel, Ladine, Dyson, Mycro Keratin, Davines, and Joico.
At the gala dinner, new members were welcomed – congratulations to Nicolas Anamourlis from KZN, Shantal Benecke from KZN, Donovan Foti from KZN, Eric Lovemore from Cape Town, Justine Brandt from Gauteng, and Eugene Venter from Gauteng. Frikkie De Jager was awarded the prestigious Commander Awards, while Ezra Isaacs received the Education For Life award for Intercoiffure South Africa’s strong social commitment. The special Angel Wings award for charitable ventures was given to Anita Baatjies.
Intercoiffure is an amazing organisation, a group of friends and colleagues who happen to be among the most successful, dedicated, passionate and talented hairstylists in the industry.
