Industry icons Linda and Francois de Jongh are ready to retire after an incredible 48 years in business.

One of hairdressing’s most famous and best loved power couples, Linda and Francois have seen decades of trends come and go, while maintaining the top quality standards that have led to Chez Francois being well known as one of the country’s top salons.

Their passion and dedication to training have seen hundreds of hairstylists launched into successful careers nationally and internationally, and has also been one of the country’s leading competitive salons.

It all started back in 1970 when Francois bought the salon Gareth & John in King William’s Town. In 1972, the salon which was now renamed Chez Francois, moved to Vincent Park when the shopping centre first opened its doors. Today they are the centre’s longest standing tenant.

Linda and Francois are remaining in the business for the next few months, while handing over to the new owner Alfredo Naidoo, who is taking the salon forward into the future and will ensure that this amazing legacy is nurtured and grown for hopefully many more decades.

This fabulous article published in the Daily Dispatch commemorates the occasion.
