Very Peri, the Pantone Color of 2022 for a Year Full of Inspiration

As every year, Pantone Color Institute has chosen a color that sets the mood and attitude to follow during the next 12 months. Very Peri is a combination of sky blue and lavender, also called periwinkle or lavender blue. According to the Pantone Institute, with this election they want us to face the future with more optimism and with some restraint.

Color in life as in hairdressing is vibrancy and is never an innocent choice. Since ancient times we know about the importance and influence of colors on our mind as well as our emotions, and from that knowledge chromotherapy was born. For centuries, colors have had a strong symbolic meaning that varies in different cultures. Very Peri is created from the fusion of two tones, sky blue and lavender. Two pastels provide their meaning. Blue is calming, it gives us peace, and that is why it helps us fall asleep. Violet has a strong spiritual meaning, as it signifies transformation. Therefore, this new color incorporates these values, but they are projected in a new way. This tone invites us to modify our attitude with joy and optimism, but also with awareness and meditation on our future and what we do with our life. It is about assuming the uncertainty, that not everything is under our control, although without discouraging us.

We are going to find the Very Peri in many details that surround our lives. From clothing, accessories, furniture, hair accessories, and the hair itself. We are going to integrate this color and all the emotions that it arouses in us to let ourselves be full by them. A whole declaration of intentions that is clearly reflected when we make it visible in our day-to-day, by wearing it.

With hair, we express our identity, what we resonate with and what reflects us. So this color is also a new coloring trend that can be incorporated in different ways. Very Peri is a tone to wear soundly, but also with highlights or selected locks. With bitonal styles, chunky highlights or melting with a brown or platinum base is a great option.
