Style Inspiration: Jigsaw by Yoshiko Hair

Jigsaw is inspired by the breaking down of hair styles and textures, to recreate them into new shapes.  I wanted the collection to have a disconnected and distorted feel to it.  Like working with mosaics, I wanted to break everything and re-assemble it.

I endeavoured to make the models look like wind up dolls with the look that they have been put together like a jigsaw to create an individual and stylized feel.

I chose to create a robotic, dramatic collection that borders on dark and dramatic.

I drew inspiration from fashion designers Rick Owens and Raf Simons who optimize stylized constructed fashion shapes and styles.

My vision was to marry the clothes with the hair by the strong reconstructed and contrasting shapes.

I wanted to celebrate individuality and introduce themes of punk from the streets of London and New York, a rebel without a cause.
