2024 marks a significant milestone in the illustrious journey of Opulent Models South Africa (OMSA). Celebrating its 10th anniversary, OMSA has come a long way, evolving into a powerhouse in the South African modelling industry.
OMSA has been dominating the model search competition industry in South Africa over the last years, and this year's theme "Domination" set the stage for an unforgettable celebration and a testament to its continual growth and success and was tangible in every aspect of the competition. Fashion took centre stage, entertainment was captivating, and models showcased their talent and dominated the runway. "Domination" was the driving force behind every element of the competition this year.
The journey of OMSA over the last ten years is a remarkable story of growth and adaptation. From its humble beginnings in a hotel conference room with only 20 finalists, OMSA has grown exponentially. Today, it boasts a grand finale show attended by nearly 5000 people in one of South Africa's largest entertainment venues. Beyond the growth in scale, OMSA has expanded its categories to provide diverse opportunities for models. From runway models to editorial models and fitness models, OMSA has created a platform for everyone. It is all about celebrating individuality.
Being the exclusive South Africa partner of Top Model Worldwide London, OMSA is one of the leading international professional model search competitions in South Africa and is indeed the biggest platform for new models to be discovered.
On 22 August 2024 the Grand Finale of Opulent Models South Africa was held at the state-of-the-art Time Square SunBet Arena in Pretoria, exclusively hosted by Johan Ungerer Signature Events, SunBet Arena and Time Square, and proudly fuelled by XSTROX.
The Grand Finale Show was truly a spectacular event with 200 models that walked the runway for the title of OMSA 2024 winner. The master of ceremonies was well-known broadcast media personality Ewan Strydom. He was joined by Zarinah Hassan Tlale, Melody Eleanor Middlewick, Ruben Gooranah, Sophie Ndaba, Gareth Cliff, Advocate Gerrie Nel, Lady Zamar, Dave Smith and Brigadier Kushie Pietersen as judges who had the difficult task of selecting the 2024 winners.
OMSA partnered up with various well-known brands and companies like; Top Model Worldwide London, Johan Ungerer Signature Events, XSTROX Empire, JU Quillage South Africa Sun International, Willie Venter the Producers of Arts, The Oaks Collective, Brad de Waal Designer Networking, EPH Group, Mercedes-Benz Gauteng North, iTickets and the home of OMSA SunBet Arena at Time Square, to bring you OMSA 2024.
With more than 60 sponsors, the success of this event would also not have been possible. With too many to name, all sponsors can be viewed on all OMSA’s social media platforms.
Finalists competed in nine different categories to walk away as winners. These categories include Runway, Body of the Year, Beautiful Fresh Face, Men’s Open, Over 25’s, Curve, Body Transformation, Fitness Physique and Mr. & Mrs. Opulent.

Upon arrival at the SunBet Arena, ticket marshals scanned us in and we were treated to the ultimate VVIP experience.
My name is Janine Nieklaasen, and for the past 10 years I have been working in the internal sales department for KAO SA, one of the leading haircare companies in the world.
I am also Events Coordinator for Miss Bachelorette SA, Owner of the Mr/Miss Face of the Northern Cape Pageant, and Chair-person for the KITOVO Birthing African Warriors Foundation.
