The Keune Stylist of the Year Awards 2026 are officially underway. With entries closing on 30 March 2026, you have less than two weeks to showcase your talent in the first South African edition on this respected creative event.
Now in its third year and supported in South Africa by Keune distributor mhb, the Awards celebrate creativity, technical mastery, and industry excellence, giving you the chance to gain national recognition and connect with the global Keune network. Supported locally by mhb, the competition also offers the opportunity to progress to the global stage.
CARLA KLUE
A highly accomplished hairdresser and owner of Haus of Klue with 21 years of industry experience. Carla is widely recognised for her transformative colour results, specialising in colour, bleach work, and advanced styling. A seasoned fashion week stylist, competition finalist, and multiple award-winning professional, she is celebrated for her creative excellence and technical mastery. Carla was recently appointed as the Label.M Ambassador for South Africa.
MARISKA TREURNICHT
With 17 years in the industry, Mariska is a dedicated Education Manager and colour expert known for celebrating individuality and encouraging creative expression. She is passionate about inspiring stylists to think independently, grow their technical skills, and explore bold, innovative ideas. A recognised educator and award-winning professional, Mariska is committed to the education of the next generation of hairstyling talent.
FLO NEACSU
A renowned precision-cutting specialist with 18 years of experience, Flo is a double Trend Vision Award winner and Head of Technical Direction at Excentric. Known for mastery in advanced cutting techniques, he has built a reputation for simplifying and modernising cutting methodology. Through social media, hands-on classes, and online courses, Flo continues to make high-level education accessible to stylists everywhere.
WARREN SCHULTZ
A highly respected Wella Ambassador with 17 years of industry experience, Warren is recognised for his expertise in flawless blondes and balayage. His work is known for exceptional technical precision and luxury colour transformations, alongside influential hair content that continues to shape the modern colour landscape.
BRAD DE WAAL
With more than two decades of experience in the hair and beauty industry and a background in graphic design, Brad brings a unique perspective to the judging panel. As Design Director for Hairnews, he is a seasoned judge known for his sharp editorial eye and refined aesthetic sensibilities, with an exceptional ability to recognise impactful visual presentation at the highest standard.
The Keune Stylist of the Year Awards 2026 challenges stylists to demonstrate both artistic creativity and technical excellence through two competition categories:
Colour Category: Judged on creativity, precision, colour harmony, finish, and overall impact.
Style Category: Judged on wearability, creativity, trend alignment, technical execution, and overall impact.
The competition offers far more than national recognition. Local winners may progress to the global Keune competition, where the rewards include:
