Dear Industry

We are in trying times with the Pandemic looming over our head, looting happening in two provinces, and the taxis shooting in the Western Cape - it has taken a toll on your business.

The Council is here to help you with the parties going on short time or doing settlement agreements on your arrears, but bear in mind that the Pension Fund money needs to be paid up first in order for the settlement agreement to become effective.

The reason for this is that we are still governed by the Pension fund Act which states “ it is a criminal offence if the Pension fund is in arrears - you can face a fine or jail time or both.”

Please contact your respective Agents to help you in this regard.

KZN – Employers at this moment you only have one agent - Prudence Nyawuza. If there is any other person who contacts you posing as an Agent from Council, please contact the office immediately on 031 201 1193 or Prudence on 066 559 3891.

Please keep warm, be safe and sanitize.

Kind regards, Yumna Abrahams
