European Salons Look Forward to Reopening Soon

As the most recent lockdown in Europe begins to ease, salons are starting to look forward to reopening. Hair salons in Belgium opened last week, Germany is planning to reopen hairdressing on 1st March, and it looks like salons and barbers across the UK are remaining closed until earliest 8th March. Portugal is seeing a spike in cases and is expected to continue with its current lockdown until at least mid March, while Spain’s lockdown has been extended until 2nd March.

The rise in cases these countries have experienced is thought to be as a result of the new variants. Although we had a very tough and long initial lockdown, South African hairstylists are fortunate to have had only one lockdown, and that our government has kept the industry open even during our second wave. Kudos to all hairdressers who have kept a strong focus on safety and helped do their part to maintain salons as the lowest possible risk environment.
