Launched over 65 years ago, the world’s longest running hairdressing competition is back in South Africa and ready to celebrate and elevate the best hairdressing talent.
L’Oréal Professionnel Paris hosts its legendary hair pro competition, Style & Colour Trophy, opening up more communities beyond the hair industry for the second time around.
Celebrating the creativity and skills of hair artistry, the contest brings incredible excitement and energy to the industry, inspiring hairdressers around the world to strive to push the limits of what is possible not only in the salon, but on the world stage. The competition is open to all pros, featuring the talent, style and creativity of the world of hairdressing.
We present the South African Finalists
The Overall Winner of the 2022 Style & Colour Trophy will have the chance to compete and represent SOUTH AFRICA on a global level!
12 finalists have been selected for the South African national finale.
In the 2022 Style & Color Trophy, all candidates compete on one theme “FRENCH EDITO” to become the Winner of the global pro hair competition.
French Edito is the global theme to inspire hair artists around the world.
Taking inspiration from the editorial world of hair and fashion it is a total look image that would stand out on the front cover of any premium magazine. This year, the competition has expanded to include new countries representing all continents, showcasing more pros, more expertise and more hair diversity.

• Flawlessly Executed & Elevates the Professional Difference
The 2022 finalists have been selected and will compete for the South African title on August 7th and 8th judged by an amazing panel of judges @yvonnebryson_pasqualehair, @kandiskardash, @_nicolecapper, @tamaradey and @hansonndabeni
Our 12 Finalists will take part in the South African national finale by creating a new French Edito look live and give themselves a chance to become the South African SCTrophy national winner, 2nd place winner or 3rd place winner, and maybe the Audience Award winner as well.
Then on to the Global Stage!
The 6 best national winners from each country will go on to compete to become the Style & Color Trophy Grand Winner, 2nd Place Winner or 3rd Place Winner, and in the Audience Award competition as well. The global finale will be broadcasted online. Stay tuned for more!
We are confident that this theme will bring as much as excitement than the 2021 edition gathered. The 2021 SCTrophy Grand Finale gathered 8 million views on YouTube.
