What a fabulous colour correction using the phenomenal new Colour Reset for a safe, effective removal.
Here’s how Stefan worked his magic:
I had so much fun doing this clients hair. What a challenge it was indeed but this is the food I live for. Her hair was severely compromised and damaged due to a previous visit to another salon. She had soooooo much red and orange pigment in her hair. She wanted a much cooler look and we wanted to get rid of the red and orange colours.
Because the hair was so damaged and brittle, we could not do a bleach bath to remove the unwanted tones, that will just break the hair even further and dry it out even more.
I decided to use a colour effersol, so we used Colour Reset, a product from Twincare International. It works by shrinking any artificial Colour pigment that’s in the hair and then it just washes out with its final buffer shampoo stage. This product leaves natural hair pigment untouched and only works on artificial pigment. This was ideal for my client’s hair as we all know how difficult it is to get red out of the hair shaft.
It leaves the hair shiny and silky to touch, ready for its next colour service.
We then coloured the roots with a double ash Colour with a green base to neutralize any remaining red and orange out the hair. The same colour, just a shade lighter, was applied to the mid lengths and ends with added green concentrate to help get rid of the remaining red.
Formula :
Colour Effersol - Colour reset by Twincare.
Roots - 6.11(40g) & 6.0 (10g) and 20vol. 20min
Ends - 7.11 (50g) & Green concentrate (8g) and 10vol
30min
Olaplex was used in each and every step to ensure the health of the hair was kept in place. Fixing all the broken disulfide bonds and making the hair stronger from the inside out. Olaplex will also assist with colour retention. Preventing the ends from fading out to quickly. Because the disulfide bonds are fixed together again, the colour pigment has more room and space to grab on to and stay in the hair. As we all know that porous hair grabs colour very quickly and also loses colour very quickly.
Client was sent home with aftercare products to treat and maintain the hair.
Styling advice I gave the client:
•No more hair straightening with a hot iron for a while.
•Less heat styling as heat also lets the Colour molecules fade.
•Wash with cool water, as warm water opens the hair cuticle more and your Colour or toner will fade out quicker.
•Use a leave in conditioner that protects the hair agains environmental damage. UVA & UVB Rays from the sun also let’s the Colour molecules fade out the hair quicker.
Because the clients hair is so damaged, she needs to take extra care of it untill we reach a health state again.
You will never buy an expensive dress or garment without looking at the washing instructions. You want that expensive piece of clothing to last you as long as possible. So you will always look at the washing instructions before putting it in the wash to ensure you don’t damage your garment.
Why send your client home with her new expensive hair and not give her the proper aftercare to look after her hair and ensure her new look stays fresh for as long as possible.
