Entries are open for Wella Professionals TrendVision Award, the most anticipated event on the hairdressing calendar! National finalists will compete for first place on 1 September 2019 at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg.
For Theresa Gouws, the driving force behind the South African event since 2001, TrendVision Award is by far her favourite Wella event.
“TrendVision Award is one of the world’s most prestigious platforms for creativity. There is no ceiling and there are no boundaries – there are only rewards for confidence, skill and creativity. Stylists who have competed previously show consistent growth and development, whether they have emerged as winners or not.”
The competition is designed in such a way that even up-and-coming stylists can explore their creativity while competing equally on the same stage as masters of the industry.
”This alone should encourage young stylists to enter,” says Theresa. ”They are the future of hairdressing and they deserve an opportunity like TrendVision Award. I always look forward to the rush of entries, and I am expecting an avalanche this year!”

National TrendVision Award and Global Creative Retreat
Winners of the National TrendVision Award in the categories Color Artist of the year and Creative Artist of the year will join their international counterparts during October at the ITVA Global Creative Retreat. The destination is yet to be revealed but flights and accommodation are included in the prize.
The retreat is a 3-day event that includes exclusive mentoring and coaching sessions. Winners will work in a team and learn from top global guest artists. Teams will ultimately compete during the three days for the coveted Couture Collection Award, as well as other signature accolades.
The chance to make a mark in the industry awaits all stylists who have confidence, skill and creativity.
