L’Oréal Colour Trophy: Categories Announced


If you’re getting excited about the amazing L’Oréal Colour Trophy, and starting to plan your look – L’Oréal Professionnel has now announced the guidelines for the different competition categories – the Colour Trophy Award, Men’s Image Award, STAR Award and Afro Look Award.

Read carefully as your winning look will need to follow the brief, while showcasing your artistic creativity!

 

L’ORÉAL COLOUR TROPHY AWARD

THE BRIEF

Entrants must create a well-executed, inspirational, modern colour showcasing a female look. This must be complemented by a beautiful style, finish and total look taking inspiration from upcoming trends. Entrants can interpret this as they see fit but the final look must share the same values as L’Oréal Professionnel. These are:

Fashion: Taking inspiration from trends

Innovation: Classic elements, with a brand new twist

Pioneering: A colour that has not been done before and could be a future trend

The work presented must always be exceptionally executed and technically correct. The hair colour will be the overriding factor in any decision making process.

IMPORTANT CHANGES IN THIS CATEGORY*

No under 16’s are allowed to enter or attend the L’Oréal Colour Trophy events. A salon can enter multiple stylists into this category. Each stylist entering must create a unique username and password.

All stylists through to the Shortlisted Judging Stage will be judged collectively online. The judges will select their top 12 from the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Category regardless of region and these 12 stylists will compete at the Grand Final.

All model ‘before’ photos must be a side or front view only and not a back view.

 

L’ORÉAL MEN’S IMAGE AWARD

THE BRIEF

Entrants must create a well-executed, complementary colour showcasing a male look. This must be complemented by a well finished style and total look taking inspiration from upcoming trends. Entrants can interpret this as they see fit but the final look must share the same values as L’Oréal Professionnel. These are:

Fashion: Taking inspiration from trends.

Innovation: Classic elements, with a brand new twist

Pioneering: A colour that has not been done before and could be a future trend

The work presented must always be exceptionally executed and technically correct. The hair colour will be the overriding factor in any decision making process.

IMPORTANT CHANGES IN THIS CATEGORY*

No under 16’s are allowed to enter or attend the L’Oréal Colour Trophy events. A salon can enter multiple stylists into this category. Each stylist entering must create a unique username and password.

8 Successful stylist will be shortlisted to the semi-finals, and 4 stylists that are selected into the Finals will compete at the Grand Finale.

A panel of judges will judge all salons through to the Shortlisted Judging Stage collectively online. The judges will select their top 8 from the L’Oréal Men's Image Category regardless of region and these 4 stylists will compete at the Grand Final.

All model ‘before’ photos must be a side or front view only and not a back view.

 

L’ORÉAL COLOUR TROPHY STAR AWARD

THE BRIEF

Entrants must create a well-executed, inspirational, modern colour showcasing a female look. This must be complemented by a beautiful style, finish and total look taking inspiration from upcoming trends. Entrants can interpret this as they see fit but the final look must share the same values as L’Oréal Professionnel. These are:

IMPORTANT TO NOTE FOR THIS CATEGORY*

The Colourist in the team must be between 16 and 25 years on the closing day of entry FRIDAY 29 June 2018. A stylist can only enter once into this category.

All STAR Finalists must bring a mood-board to their respective Semi-Final to best explain their inspiration behind their look. 6 Successful stylists will be shortlisted to the semi-finals, and 3 stylists that are selected into the Finals will compete at the Grand Finale.

Overall winner will be announced at the Grand Finale

L’ORÉAL COLOUR TROPHY AFRO LOOK AWARD

THE BRIEF

Entrants must create a well-executed, inspirational, modern colour showcasing a female look on a model of African/Caribbean descent. This must be complemented by a beautiful style, finish and total look taking inspiration from upcoming trends. Entrants can interpret this as they see fit but the final look must share the same values as L’Oréal Professionnel. These are:

Fashion: Taking inspiration from trends

Innovation: Classic elements, with a brand new twist

Pioneering: A colour that has not been done before and could be a future trend

The work presented must always be exceptionally executed and technically correct. The hair colour will be the overriding factor in any decision making process.
