Moving salons home was a trend even before the coronavirus pandemic. The pandemic itself has put pressure on many salons who were only just making ends meet in shopping centres pre-Covid, or else who have not been able to negotiate new terms with their landlords that will allow them to survive in the “new normal”.

Moving a salon to a home environment or onto private property instead of retail premises allows for a saving in rental costs and also for greater flexibility, but it is not as simple as hiring a removal van and installing new plumbing! Moving home requires a change in the way you do business, the marketing you do, how you manage your bookings, how you generate revenue, and it can even mean you need to look for different products and services to meet client’s changing needs.

Our “Moving Your Salon Home” mailer covers all the pros and cons of opening a salon at home, and looks at some of the innovative, quality products and services that can help you get off to a fantastic and profitable start in your home environment. We will also interview some of the salon owners who have moved home successfully. Look out for Friday’s mailer and we hope you enjoy the read, and find it inspiring and helpful in these challenging times.
