We have come to an end of what has proved to be a very difficult year. The main contributors have been political with politicians tripping over their own feet at every turn creating insecurity in our economy.
This, as well, as increases in the vat rate, electricity price increases and other related taxes have reduced the disposable income of our consumers.
We can control our individual businesses but we cannot control the larger economy. I have found this fact very frustrating because I really feel that our economy has the potential to grow, all it needs is the right leadership and sober economic policies to release its potential.
Regardless we have to respond to the hand that is dealt to us so have to find a way to not only survive, but grow.
Essentially that means going back to basics. In an environment where sales are not growing you need to cut expenses, ensure your costs are under control and keep your staff motivated.
That will ensure that your business is ready when things begin to improve.
Fortunately we are entering the festive season when business improves and gives us an opportunity to recharge our bank accounts.
My advice is to use that money to pay off debt and plan for the difficult month up to the election.
I am optimistic for the second half of 2019 and as Twincare we plan to launch 2 new exciting brands that will fill a new niche and give us all an opportunity to increase our turnover.
I would like to wish all our clients a great season, this is the time us suppliers take leave and you work you butts off. I will be thinking about you while I am tanning by the pool, Not, ha ha.
