It took a year... but Shawn Bubb at Cutting Edge Hair, Matlosana Mall, Klerksdorp, transformed his client from dark, flat, oversaturated box colour to a shimmering, iridescent platinum blonde.
“Going blonde is a journey,” Shawn explains. “This beautiful young lady came to me exactly a year ago with box coloured dark hair and wanted to go blonde. I said it’s possible, but will take time. We did it in six appointments, and always ensured the integrity of the hair was the most important.
September 2016: Full head of highlights with Goldwell Silklift, using strong powder and 30-vol and adding Goldwell BondPro.
At first we toned her a dark caramel blonde. Then every two months we repeated the same process, just toning her with a lighter toner each time.
She used the new Goldwell Kerasilk Reconstruct shampoo and conditioner for homecare, and once a week the Kerasilk Reconstruct Intensive Repair Mask.
