Styles: Firefly by Dee Parker Attwood, Australia

I wanted to pay homage to all my favourite eras of hair and fashion in one collection. We shot in black and white for this collection, because I wanted the feature of each hairstyle to be purely the ‘shape and size’. Big hair and old fashion hair setting mixed with modern day haircutting skills, says it all in these six shots. Of course, with a futuristic 2021 feel added and hair and styling pushed further.

The best and most glamorous hair trends of many eras was the starting point of this collection. Making it new for today, I also added to and exaggerated to create a forwarded thinking collection = Firefly.

The Wieselmann brand provides fashion innovation to our clients. The Firefly collection holds all the components of the brand: glamour, dressed hair, clever, edgy and trend setting.

All my collections start months before my actual shoot day, creating the concept on the hair. I turned back time and remembered my mum combing up sets in her salon in the 70’s. I went back on the tools and created some more modern versions of these. I also practiced and added to haircuts from the past to bring into today’s Aesthetic. I then spoke to Andrew O’Toole (photographer) and we decided on a black and white shoot to really show my exaggerated silhouettes and head shapes off. For makeup and clothes, we all agreed to go high fashion and glamour focused.
