We at Hairnews are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Willie Pietersen, a revered figure in South Africa's hairdressing and beauty industry. His contributions, particularly through his work with the Employers' Organisation for Hairdressing, Cosmetology, and Beauty (EOHCB), have left an indelible mark on the profession.

Willie Pietersen was more than a salon owner; he was a visionary leader and mentor whose influence extended across South Africa's personal care sector. As a longstanding member and past president of the EOHCB, he played a pivotal role in shaping the industry's governance and advocating for the rights and development of employers and professionals alike.
His commitment to excellence was evident in his active participation in the National Bargaining Council for Hairdressing, Cosmetology, Beauty, and Skincare Industry, where he championed improved industry standards and working conditions. Willie's leadership extended to his own establishment, Hair Xotica in Pretoria, which stood as a beacon of best practices and professional growth.
Beyond his professional achievements, Willie was deeply invested in nurturing talent and advancing skills development within the industry. His involvement in training programs, mentorship initiatives, and both local and international competitions has left a lasting impact on countless hairdressers who benefited from his guidance and expertise.
