Winner - Betsy Giani-Pieterse - Tint Colorlab
Congratulations to Betsy on submitting the winning entry. Below is her makeover story and the colour recipe she used to achieve this stunning look.
“On the 28th June 2020, my client, Chante, wanted to completely change her look after realizing during Lockdown… one only lives once.
I was so excited to be able to step outside of comfort and create this beautiful color concept.
On Chante I de-colorized the hair with Light Master and 20vol to reach level 9.
I used Matrix So ColorCult to create 2 sides of a spectrum. Cools with Warm with a holographic feel.
My cherry on the cake was the stunning Violet Grey top to create the illusion of one Global color.
Socolorcult formulation:
Pink: Flamingo Pink
Fuschia
Blue: Admiral navy
Mermaid Teal
Smokey grey on top was 7VA And 10vol
What moves me is that this look is completely versatile in any which way you want to wear it.”

Silver Award - Alexia Chrysafis - Fox and Davidson Hair Design
This was a full day MAKEOVER, taking her from a grown out red to a more natural balayage as she was planning to emigrate, and wanted something low maintenance until she could find the right salon there. I started by doing a full head foliage technique with lightner and used a colour remover on the ends that were left out of the foil. Did a root melt close to her natural base colour and toned the ends.
Bronze Award - Fabio Macchia - Shag High Voltage Hair
Jason came in wanting something totally different, he was tired of the same results and look he has been having for a while now. I wanted to do this on him for some time now. So we went for it, my biggest concern was to hold he’s condition as we lightened. We used Schwarzkopf Blondme to lighten the hair. Followed by a cut using Diagonal Graduation along the tempural area through to occipital bone into nape, by following with so good texture.
Bronze Award Fatima Sayanvala - Hijabella Hair Studio
My client had requested rainbow hair. She was a natural level 3 with grown out highlites on the ends. We did a platinum card of super fine foils, lifted low and slow with wellaplex and Blondor. Then Pre- toned and colored with Wella color fresh create shades.
