COVID-19: “We’re in this together. We WILL get to the other side.”

The national lockdown has been extended and uncertainty is growing. However, there is hope and there is help from government as well as other relief funds – and, there are small things Modern Hair & Beauty is doing to help our clients during lockdown and to encourage business once lockdown has ended.

Here’s what we are doing during and after lockdown

1. Online education through our Modern Hair & Beauty social media channels

Our Education team has put together activities to keep you engaged during lockdown. They have organised live education sessions on our social pages presented by top stylists and they’ve invited stylists to join Wella education online. This ensures that our stylists stay connected, informed, and at the top of their game during the stay-at-home period.

2. The #showyourroots campaign

The #showyourroots campaign encourages salon customers to leave it to the professionals. Rather than take their roots into their own hands, we’re asking your clients to stop, think, and WAIT, before reaching for the box.

This international campaign was started by Wella and is locally promoted by Modern Hair & Beauty. The #showyourroots message communicates that clients should be proud to save their roots for their hairdresser and similarly to show it off on social media.

The campaign discourages at-home-colour applications and asks customers to instead support local hairdressers and salons.

This is a fun initiative that encourages clients to wait out their regrowth. So that they can benefit from tailor-made colour treatments designed perfectly for them.

3. Selling essential products

Modern Hair & Beauty has been licenced to sell essential items on the MHB Online shop. We can provide your clients with shampoos, conditioners, hair masks and Swish hygiene products during lockdown – and, we’re allowed to deliver these products straight to their door.

Partnership salons will receive commission on sales made.

4. Dedicated COVID-19 web page

We’ve created a dedicated COVID-19 page on our website to share helpful information with our salons and stylists. You will find a summary of links to various useful websites or articles, including funding options for small businesses, government portals, and industry sources. We’ll update the site as we come across new, useful information related to COVID-19 and lockdown.

5. Promotions post-lockdown

While in lockdown we’re preparing promotions that our partnership salons can offer to clients. These promotions will mainly drive colour and in-salon services. We will use our social media channels to send new clients your way via our Salon Near Me salon locator. We’ve also created a partnership portal on our website that allows our salon partners to have privileged access to view and opt into promotions - which will be rolled out before lockdown ends.
