The recent Indola Street Style seminars wowed the industry with the launch of an incredible trends collection – relevant, inspirational, and adaptable for use in the salon. Here are a few top tips from the events, to inspire you to create gorgeous, streetwise glamour for your clients.
Dark Sensuality – head-turning, dramatic and glamorous.
Cutting Tip: Create a one-length cut that puts all the weight and movement in the ends. Soften the finish slightly by creating a disconnection halfway through the front to frame the face when worn loose or up.
Colours used:
Colour 1 – PCC 10.0 + 12% / 40 Vol Cream Developer
Colour 2 – Comb on colour PCC 1000.27 + 12% / 40 Vol Cream Developer
Finish with Innova Thermal Protector and Innova Glamorous Oil Gloss
Activ80s – sport-inspired fashion.
Cutting Tip: Create graphic lines and a strong shape in this bob with an undercut section (up to the occipital bone) that reduces the weight, bringing in more movement and helping the cut sit closer to the head, avoiding the dreaded bowl effect. And it works with wavy or curly hair too.
Colours used:
Colour 1 – Comb on hair PCC 5.77x + 3.0 (1:1) + 2% / 7 Vol Cream Developer
Colour 2 – Global roots PCC 8.77x + PCC 6.77x (1:1) + 2% / 7 Vol Cream Developer
Global mid lengths and ends PCC 8.77x + PCC 6.77x (1:1) + 6% / 20 Vol Cream Developer
Finish with Innova Smoothening Serum and Innova Divine Blond Illuminator Spray
Raw Bohemia – flowing femininity
Cutting Tip: Create a long Boho style with loads of movement. Leave the top long, but cut internal layers to release the weight. Cutting the baseline freehand helps finish a look that’s really modern, soft, naturally pretty and free flowing and works with any hair type.
Colours used:
Colour 1 – Invisilights in foil New Blonde Expert Bleach and/or Rapid Blond Bleach + 2% / 7 Vol Cream Developer
Colour 2 – Balayage BE 1000.27 + 12% / 40 Vol Cream Developer
Colour 3 – New Blonde Expert Bleach and/or Rapid Blond Bleach + 6% / 20 Vol Cream Developer
Finish with Innova Strong Spray
Modern Muse – celebrating curls with gorgeous, romantic movement
Cutting Tip: Any shape with corners (squares or triangles) can be a problem for curly hair. Create a rounded form for the curls to sit on, with some shaping around the fringe. Then, using a drier, blow out the curls, using your fingers to stretch the lengths.
Colours used:
Colour 1 – PCC 8.43 + 0.33 (60g + 5g) + 9% / 30 Vol Cream Developer
Colour 2 – PCC 7.44 + 0.66 (60g + 5g) + 6% / 20 Vol Cream Developer
Colour 3 – PCC 6.44 + 2% / 7 Vol Cream Developer
Finish with Innova Thermal Protector and Innova Strong Mousse
New Gender: Strong, minimalist and androgynous
Cutting Tip: Create a strong but flattering outline to this crop by keeping a round shape at the temples and over the ears, but use the tips of scissors to create a shattered outline, especially at the fringe. That way, you can choose how to style it on or off the face, adding more or less texture.
Colours used:
Colour 1 – Roots and global colour PCC 3.0 + 2% / 7 Vol Cream Developer
Colour 2 – Panel area PCC 5.3 + 6% / 20 Vol Cream Developer
Finish with Innova Wonder Blow Dry and Innova Strong Spray
