EOHCB Updates the Industry on Pleas for Salons to Reopen

Dear EOHCB Members, The EOHCB requested Minister Dlamini-Zuma to provide reasons for rejecting our submission/request that the sector included on Level 4. We are preparing another Sectoral submission in accordance with the published regulations for submission later this week.

The EOHCB will provide a guide to members on the steps that should be followed and prepared between now and when we are allowed to re-start. The EOHCB is considering legal action as one of the alternatives that are available should constructive engagement with the government become futile. We are aware of establishments that are operating contrary to the Regulations and without the necessary permits. We are aware that enforcement of the regulations are not being done to the same degree across country. We are also aware of establishments that were closed down and are now facing the legal ramifications of their decision to operate unlawfully.

We urge members to remain within the law. The EOHCB Team
